Inspiration

Creation

The design details are created based on the size requirements, color selection, fiber selection, and scale of the pattern to be appropriate for the space.

Pre-Production

The yarn is dyed to match the yarn poms selected.

Mapping or Graphing

Full-size rug pattern drawn on graph paper

The design is drawn by hand onto graph paper so the weavers have a chart to follow.

Weaving

The loom is strung with a cotton warp, and the wool is tied through, creating the rug. Highly skilled weavers follow the details and are weaving the rug to a custom shape on the loom.

Finishing

The rug is washed, stretched to shape and square, and the edges serged by hand. Then the rug is wrapped and shipped. The rug is delivered and spread with the proper underlay to be enjoyed for years to come.
